If you've read any of my earlier posts then you know about my affair with Dominican hair products. Even after a year, I have not found anything I love more than Baba De Caracol. It stops hair shedding DEAD in it's tracks! I buy from www.roundbrushhair.com and I have a promo code for you. There are plenty of reviews now so you can read before purchasing.

Update: Ayurvedic Products (EBay Purchase from Seller, RummageSale69)
Hesh Shikakai Powder & Dabur Vatka Oil ($12.69 total price for both)
Description/Use: Hesh Shikakai Powder acts as a natural astringent for hair, enhancing its binding properties. It clears dandruff and cleans the dirt accumulated on the scalp. Being a natural conditioner for hair, SHIKAKAI strengthens hair roots and promotes luxuriant growth. Hesh Shikakai powder has certain vital properties that act as coolants for the scalp. This powder has to be mixed with water and used as a paste on the hair instead of shampoo.
Rumors: Same as above but add manageability & growth
My Usage: I use it a little differently. I mix the Shikakai with Amla powder, coconut , vatka oil with distilled water and I make a paste. I apply it like a relaxer on Saturday mornings for a couple of hours while I clean the house or tackle my homework.
Verdict: It definitely softens my hair especially new growth and the Amla deepens my hair to a shiny black color I love. I will continue to use every weekend. Two snaps AND a circle!
Update: Ayurvedic Products (EBay Purchase from Seller, RummageSale69)
Swastik Shikakai Soap ($3.69 total price)
Description/Use: The natural goodness of Swastik Shikakai soap keeps your hair soft and silky. It is enriched with added ingredients to give extra bounce to your hair, nourishes your scalp and is extremely gentle on skin.
Rumors: It is supposed to prevent shedding and moisturize dry hair.
My Usage: The same, just used it as a shampoo
Verdict: I wouldn’t say that it is the most moisturizing shampoo I have ever used but I have definitely had less shedding since I started using it. A keeper!

So-so products=wasted gas money?

Elasta QP DPR-11 Conditioner (Local BSS, $5.37)
Individually, they both vary from suckyness to average. The Suave is too watery & weak and the DPR really didn’t do anything (ANYTHING) as far as I could tell.

Let's get it started! Dominican Hair Products...

After lurking for six months on the Black hair forum, I decided to try out a Dominican Salon here in Jacksonville. The Dominican salons, mostly, recieved rave reviews on all of the hair boards so I figured it would just be "magic".
Okay. The Dominican salon. Maybe my expectations were too high or not! I was not pleased with the service (waiting FOREVER, the staff speaking the ENTIRE time in spanish, being told by hair was to short to work "right", etc.). I did call first to make sure the salon worked with african-american hair and short hair.
To make a long story short, my hair was UGGGGLY but they used a wonderful product "Baba de Caracol Hair Loss Treatment (16oz) ". Although my head was killing me for three days after my hair was so soft and there was no shedding. So, like the beauty researcher I am, I ran across a wonderful site, "http://www.roundbrushhair.com/" for $13.99. I applied it like a relaxer at the scalp and coating the ends once a week for a month. I LOVE it!!!!

I swear my hair feels stronger and I see less of it in the sink. I also bought several other things that I will be reviewing later.
